Why Are We Easily Misled by Obama

I feel that Obama supporters are so misinformed, its incredible. Obama is practically the same as Clinton in every respect.  He is far from being anti-status quo.

Keep in mind the following FACTS, all from Obama's words & actions, as well as from objective sources:

(1) Obama voted in favor of funding the war on several occasions while US Senator. He admits to this (download 11/15/07 debate available on youtube.com, you will see discussion of this in the debate).  This means that when we as a country found out for sure that there were no WMDs, Obama kept voting in support of this directionless, pointless war.  This is just as bad as Clinton's voting for the war in 2002. Obama uses Clinton's voting for the war against Clinton, but Obama is just as guilty.

(2) Obama wants to aggresively 'conquer' al-qaeda.  He mentioned it at the end of his speech in NH (after primary).  He gave a long speech about it in the summer of 2007.  (see news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/692663.stm) .  He was also involved in appearance in pakistan along with G. W. Bush, where pakistan anti-war protestors protested intrusion of Obama and Bush (see sourcewatch.org and do a search for Obama & Pakistan). In a nutshell, all this means that, basically, Obama wants to bring the troops home from Iraq and then pretty much immediately redirect them to Pakistan "if the president of pakistan does not cooperate."  (Again, see his direct quote in the BBC article).  He is very aggressive about this and wants to continue the war on terror.  So, again, how is this 'anti-status quo.'???

(3) Also, Obama is in trouble for his own 527s.  (See NY Times of 1/30/08.  It's in the actual newspaper, not online, in a tiny article).  Apparently, a group called Vote for Hope is his illegal 527.  For whatever reason, the media does not make a big deal about this.

(4) Obama receives more corporate funding than Clinton, including funding from health insurance companies.  (See www.fec.gov......click on candidate "Obama for America." This are actual candidate filings)  So why do people believe him when he lies and says he gets no corporate funding.

(5) He lied and said "I was never a muslim," but then in one of his books (it may have been Audacity of Hope) he admits to having been raised muslim.

(6) He shipped in voters from Illinois (residents of Illinois!!) to cross into Iowa, got them to register to vote in Iowa, and to immediately vote for him in Iowa caucus.  Apparently, Iowa allows for late registrations with no proof of address.  This was all over a news article in cbsnews.com on January 2, 2008(do a google search for proof of this).

(7) HE IS ENDORSED BY THE ALCOHOLIC KENNEDY WHO KILLED A WOMAN!!!  Hillary is at least endorsed by RFK, Jr, which is much better.

(8) And finally, Rezko - which is the least of Obama's corruption and lies.

So....given all of the above evidence, how can this man call himself anti-status quo?   How dare he lie and say he is not part of washington political system.  How can he claim that he is candidate for change?

I am not sure I am voting for Clinton, but I am happy at least that I am not a sucker to Obama's bullshit.

So who are you voting for then? Mike Gravel?

Findthesource is not voting a Democratic primary since he is almost certainly a Republican troll.  "Alcoholic Kennedy" is a dead give away.

Re: Why Are We Easily Misled by Obama (2.00 / 1)

1. Obama opposed the initial invasion.  Supporting a rebuilding effort in a country that we destroyed is not the same as sending our troops there for no reason to begin with.

2.  Most Americans want to defeat Al Qaida, not sure where you're going with that...

3.  527s are not illegal.  Senator Obama has said that the campaign wants people to donate to it directly rather than 527s.

4.  Obama doesn't accept donations from registered federal lobbyists or PACS.  People employed by a lot of different industries donate to him; these are not donations from corporations themselves.

5.  Obama has never been a muslim and he never says he was in either of his books.  He says his step father was a muslim, one of his half-brothers converted, and his father was raised Muslim but was an atheist.

6.  That is a flat out lie.

7.  Now you're insulting one of the best Democratic Senators we've had over the last several decades...

8.  The Rezko connection is the only thing anyone has been able to drag up against Senator Obama and despite stories that include both of them that have been scrutinized since before Obama ran for Senate, no one has ever shown wrong doing on Obama's behalf.

Panicing GOPers (none / 0)

Well aware that an Obama candidacy would be the end of the modern GOP.

Too late, suckers -- we're not only taking your government, we're going to take a sizeable chunk of your voters, too.

Silliness... (2.00 / 1)

1. He has said many times that we should be as careful getting out as we were careless getting in. You seem to forget that at a time when 70% of Americans were in favor of the war and anyone opposing it was being called a terrorist sympathizer or traitor, Hillary voted for the war and Obama spoke out against it.

2. Yes. And?

3. It's not being covered because it's too small of a story to count.

4. Oh please. None of them get corporate funding. They all get corporate bundling. It's a tricky ethical question which Obama has spoken of. You can't realistically outlaw bundling--the courts would shoot it down right quick--and if one candidate unilaterally refused to accept corporate bundles then they would just find another way which would be less transparent to get the money to their candidate of choice.

5. Now you've gone off the deep-end. He was never a Muslim. He never said he was raised a muslim. You are simply lying or misinformed.

6. If you're going to make an accusation like that then it's up to you to provide the evidence to back it up. You can't just say, "google it" as your proof. Considering the fact you've lost more and more credibility with each of your vamped up, hysterically voiced charges, I don't think you can exepect anyone to take you seriously enough to do your work for you.

7. Lol!

8. Rezko is meaningless. Obama will not be so easily swiftboated as Kerry was.

Re: Why Are We Easily Misled by Obama (2.00 / 1)

I am not a slime machine.  I gave full proof/citations of all the claims I made. They are true. I am simply out to show that BOTH Clinton and Obama are not angels.

As for voting, I AM DEFINITELY A DEMOCRAT. I may lean towards Clinton because she is more learned/experience (consider, for example, Obama's faux pas in having pissed off the president of Pakistan last summer.  Not even in office and already causing trouble.).

I am sorry to sound harsh.  I am sure Obama supporters mean well.  I love all my fellow dems as well-intentioned people. I just thought I would shed objective light.

Your definition of "full proof/citations" is saying "google it."

Yeah, calling Ted Kennedy a murderer and saying Obama is a closet Muslim sure is objective, and a great way to highlight your Democratic bonafides.

Just the Facts (none / 0)

Thanks soooo much for your "objective" facts.

Here's maybe my favorite:

"He lied and said "I was never a muslim," but then in one of his books (it may have been Audacity of Hope) he admits to having been raised muslim."

I've read his books and have the advantage of not being delusional.  Accordingly, I can happily report that this statement is a ridiculous falsehood that has been repeatedly debunked.  Here's a link that discusses the various smears along these lines:

Re: Why Are We Easily Misled by Obama (none / 0)

Hello.  It's 'findthesource' again. I apologize for not giving the correct cite to statement #6 above, about Illinois residents voting in Iowa caucus.  The cite is http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Story?id= 3940909&page=1.

I mistakenly thought it was cbsnews.com in Jan......but it is clearly abcnews in December.  my bad.

by findthesource on Thu Jan 31, 2008 at 03:30:41 PM EST

Re: Why Are We Easily Misled by Obama (none / 0)

So your proof of voter fraud, which is a felony, is an abc story from December?  That's about as compelling as your muslim smear.

Re: Why Are We Easily Misled by Obama (none / 0)

Obama is the candidate that can stop Hillary from getting the nomination and win the November General Election. In the primary he takes the black vote away from Hillary plus he has strong support from the Moveon.org crowd. In the General Election He runs on the Unity-I love the Gipper message.
No other Democrat can defeat Hillary in the Primary.

Re: Why Are We Easily Misled by Obama (none / 0)

The move on crowd isn't that important if they couldn't unseat Joe Lieberman.

Re: Why Are We Easily Misled by Obama (none / 0)

FYI, they did unseat Leiberman, the Republicans were the ones who voted for him over their own candidate and over the winner (overwhelmingly) of the democratic primary, Ned Lamont.

Here is the deal (none / 0)

Obama is getting a pass.

If you take a critical look at his record, you are a meanie, or worse a racist.

If you take a critical look at his character, you are a meanie, or a racist.

He has been allowed to skate,

Re: Why Are We Easily Misled by Obama (2.00 / 1)

Wow!  It's "findthesource" again.  I had no idea my post listing that stuff about Obama would illicit this kind of response.  If I have offended anyone, I am truly sorry.  If I have tarnished the image of "mydd" then I apologize to the creators of the website.  This is a wonderful site for freedom of information and exchange of opinions. I am not a racist.  I happen to be black, myself.  I honestly thought that in this campaign "shots" were being taken at all candidates equally.  And, in fact, I am a dem. (undecided) living in a blue state.
